Youth Offerings
occupational therapy
I’ve been an OT for 9 years, serving kids and families in therapy clinics, schools, at home, in the community, and in recreational settings. I’m currently seeing clients in their homes and in the community. I have experience working with children of all ages and levels of ability. My passions and specialties include helping kids with sensory processing challenges, emotion and self-regulation challenges, anxiety and self-esteem challenges, and food tolerance. I am also a yoga instructor, and I often incorporate movement/ breathing/ mindfulness activities into my sessions and groups.
In the summers, I offer nature-based OT groups/ camps that can address physical, sensory, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
NOTE: I am currently on maternity leave until late April, 2022. Please send me a message if you'd like to pursue OT for your child, and I'll respond when I return.
youth empowerment coaching
I incorporate my occupational therapy lens (helping people thrive in their daily activities) and my yoga and mindfulness practices (helping people tune into their bodies, minds, and hearts), along with my deep love of the natural world. My goal is to help youth feel good about who they are in all their uniqueness, to understand themselves better, and to help the people in their lives understand their strengths and challenges. Sessions are individualized and may include some or all of the following:
- exploring strengths/ challenges
- setting and working toward goals
- yoga and other movement/ breathing/ meditation activities
- expressive writing and/ or art activities
- activities to promote connection to nature
Some of the challenges I address include:
- limited self-esteem
- sensory processing challenges
- challenges with focus/ attention
- stress and anxiety
- challenges related to disabilities that limit participation/ success in daily routines and desired activities
Added benefits may include:
- development of social-emotional skills
- improvements in physical skills, like balance, strength, and flexibility
- identification of new, meaningful interests and activities
NOTE: I am currently on maternity leave until late April, 2022. Please send me a message if you'd like to pursue empowerment coaching for your child, and I'll respond when I return.
teen and tween empowerment groups
These groups are designed to help teens and/ or tweens connect, unwind, build strength (body, mind, and heart), and share strategies for managing stress and anxiety. They include games, yoga, art, writing, nature connection, and relaxation activities. Empowerment groups promote confidence, camaraderie, and provide tools for calming and centering. Our groups have taken place in a variety of settings, including yoga studios, parks, therapy clinics and private schools. So far, our groups have been open to girls and nonbinary youth, but we will likely have future group offerings that include all genders.
If you don't see current group offerings listed, please inquire. We may be between groups.
I am always open to offering groups in new settings, collaborating with other leaders, and tailoring groups to specific kids/ settings. Reach out if you're interested in starting a conversation!
NOTE: I am currently on maternity leave until late April, 2022. Please send me a message if you'd like to be informed about group offerings for spring and summer 2022.
